As items approach their recommended period for use (from 6 months to 24 months after their manufacture date, depending on product), we discount the price on the items. This way you can save money on items that still have some "shelf life" left for best results. Generally speaking, items near or past their optimal use period can still make good holograms. It's just that some holograms may see slight imperfections such as signs of fogging (on reflection holograms), or the material may simply need extra exposure time as it loses sensitivity over time. Our notes below indicate our best guess of their condition. Actual condition may be better or worse.

** We've found that one can minimize some of the potential fog on PFG-03M emulsions is by diluting the developer in the JD-4 processing kit. Add twice the amount of distilled water to solutions A and B than instructed in the JD-4 kit instructions, and then develop twice as long. This process will not eliminate fog, if any, but can reduce the fog.
